The First Presbyterian Church of Milford takes Christ’s call to “Love your neighbor as yourself” seriously. The congregation, as individual members and as a whole, donates time, talent and treasure to a host of ministries dedicated to serving those in need, including Meals on Wheels, People’s Place, Home of the Brave, Habitat for Humanity, the State Service Center, Hospice and others.
The Family Gathering Soup Kitchen meets at the church each Monday evening at 6:30PM, offering a warm greeting, a free, hot meal and respect to all who enter. Under the direction of Pastor Bridgette Knowles, the soup kitchen provides fellowship as well as food to those who are often lonely as well as hungry.
Office and conference space for The Coming E.D.G.E. is also provided at FPCM. This 501(c)3 organization has operated from the church since August, 2019. The purpose of The Coming E.D.G.E. is to assist at risk youth, and young adults aging out of the foster care system with educational and employment assistance as well as training, counseling, financial literacy and housing assistance. Under the direction of Ms. Tanya D. Mann, the organization helps young people transition successfully to adulthood who may otherwise fall through the cracks.
