We take Christ’s call to “Love your neighbor as yourself” seriously. The congregation, as individual members and as a whole, donates time, talent and treasure to a host of ministries dedicated to serving those in need, including Meals on Wheels, People’s Place, Home of the Brave, Habitat for Humanity, the State Service Center, Hospice and others. During the coronavirus pandemic, the congregation found creative ways to serve those in need and show appreciation for essential workers.

Haitian Ministry Project
First Pres, Milford, is blessed to include in its congregation a family from Haiti–a grandmother and her son who live here in town, and the son’s wife and two daughters in Haiti. It is a long, complicated, sympathetic story. The bottom line is both grandmother and son have applied for green cards (her for a renewal–she has worked in chicken plants since her arrival in the U.S., but unfortunately, her card expired; him as a first-time applicant), and are awaiting to hear whether or not their applications are accepted. In the meantime, they need help with expenses both here and in Haiti (school fees and food for his wife and girls). The church has discerned God’s call to love our neighbor by supporting this family during this difficult time of waiting. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please click here to give to the Haitian Ministry Project.
The Coming E.D.G.E.
Office and conference space for The Coming E.D.G.E. is provided at FPCM. This 501(c)3 organization has operated from the church since August, 2019. The purpose of The Coming E.D.G.E. is to assist at risk youth, and young adults aging out of the foster care system with educational and employment assistance as well as training, counseling, financial literacy and housing assistance. Under the direction of Ms. Tanya D. Mann, the organization helps young people who may otherwise fall through the cracks transition successfully to adulthood.
